The Magic Behind The Print

So… How Does It Actually Get Printed?

Not all custom printing is created equal.

At Crafting Chaos, we don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. Every design, fabric, and product is evaluated individually to determine the best process for the job.

Here’s a breakdown of the magic behind the scenes 👇

🎨 DTF (Direct-to-Film)

Think: Bold. Bright. Detailed.

DTF printing allows us to print full-color designs with incredible detail onto a transfer film, which is then heat-pressed onto the garment.

Why we love it:
• Vibrant color
• Handles fine detail beautifully
• Works on light AND dark fabrics
• Soft feel compared to old-school vinyl

Best for:
• Full-color graphics
• Logos with gradients
• Fun kids designs
• Bright statement tees

DTF is our go-to when color impact matters.

🌈 Sublimation

Think: Permanent. Seamless. Built into the fabric.

Sublimation uses heat to turn ink into a gas that bonds directly with polyester-coated surfaces or fabrics. The design becomes part of the material — not a layer on top.

Why it’s awesome:
• No cracking
• No peeling
• No texture
• Long-lasting color

Best for:
• Tumblers
• Mugs
• Performance fabrics
• White or light polyester materials

If you can’t feel the design — that’s sublimation doing its thing.

✨ Specialty Vinyl

Think: Texture. Shine. Extra personality.

Specialty vinyl is cut and heat-pressed onto garments. It’s perfect when you want a specific finish like:

• Glitter
• Metallic
• Puff
• Matte
• Flocked

Best for:
• Names & numbers
• Team gear
• Simple bold statements
• Designs that need dimension

Vinyl gives that extra “pop” when flat ink just isn’t enough.

🧵 Why We Choose the Process (Not You)

You don’t have to stress about which method to pick.

Every order is evaluated individually to determine the best process for:

• Fabric type
• Design detail
• Longevity
• Overall finish

Process selection is determined at our discretion to ensure the highest quality result.

In short?
We pick the method that makes your design look its best.

🚫 What We Don’t Do

• We don’t use low-quality iron-ons
• We don’t cut corners
• We don’t print copyrighted designs without permission
• We don’t send out something we wouldn’t wear ourselves

🎯 Why This Matters

The printing method affects:

• How long your design lasts
• How it feels on the fabric
• How vibrant the colors are
• How it looks after 20 washes

That’s why we treat every order like a custom production — because it is.
